The Witcher 4 Is Being “Intensively Worked On,” Says CD Projekt RED

Speaking during an interview with Aftermath, CD Projekt RED‘s Powel Sasko revealed some brief updates on the progress of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and The Witcher 4.

Sasko revealed that some of the team behind Cyberpunk 2077 have moved over to The Witcher 4, which is being “intensively worked on” at CDPR. Meanwhile, Project Orion, the codename for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, is currently in the “fairly early stages” of development and is being worked on by developers who are “well-trained” from having worked on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty.

Sasko added that “most managers and most directors who worked on Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty are on [the new] Cyberpunk,” with some lead developers on board and that it depends on the “needs of a project at a given time.”

Last month CDPR revealed during its earnings report that more than 400 developers are working on Project Polaris, aka The Witcher 4, which is over half the studio.
