Just when PlayStation gamers were feeling a little left behind following the news that Xbox One X would be see a significant enhancement for the Xbox One version of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, it’s now been confirmed that PS4 Pro will see a similar patch in the future, too.
Announced in response to a fan on Twitter who was questioning why there wasn’t been any announcement about a potential Pro patch, CD Projekt RED’s Robert Malinowski replied by saying:
‘’We are working on a PS4 PRO update. More info to come.’’
The news comes as a surprise given the fact that some nine months ago, the Polish developer ruled out creating a PS4 Pro patch due to it being a ‘drain on resources’ whilst the team ramped up production on its newest game Cyberpunk 2077 and indeed continued work on the Witcher card spinoff Gwent.
While there’s no other information at the minute, it’s surely music to the ears for fans of arguably one of the greatest role-playing games ever made because up until now, the only enhancement available for PS4 Pro owners is through the system’s internal Boost Mode, and even then the differences are pretty minimal.

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt was released back in 2015 to universal claim, which was then followed up with two successful expansions, culminating in a complete edition packing some 200 hours of content.
