The Wolf Among Us 2 Is Likely To Drop All In One Go As Co-Publisher Notes ‘We Live In A Netflix Era’

The Wolf Among Us 2 has been a very long time coming, but the good news is it doesn’t sound like developer Telltale is going to make us wait between episodes, as the studio appears to be adopting a Netflix-style approach whereby everything will drop at once.

Speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, Jame Ottilie, CEO of Telltale Games, and Michael Yum, CEO of PM Studio (who co-publishes The Wolf Among Us 2), strongly hinted that the entire experience will be available from day one, rather than releasing episodes periodically.

“Publishing-wise, defending multiple release dates… We would probably approach it like the modern streaming model, where you drop all the episodes at the same time,” commented Ottilie, who admitted that Telltale prefers the episodic model “philosophically.”

“We live in a Netflix era. People can’t wait,” added Yum. “We should probably give the people what they want all in one go. It’s whatever makes sense at the time. If there’s a time crunch and we can’t wait, we can pivot. I wouldn’t say there’s a definitive answer to this, but we’ll try something that gives everyone something right off the bat.”

The Wolf Among Us 2 was re-revealed during Summer Game Fest last week, where the sequel was confirmed for a release in 2027 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Otilie commented at the time that The Wolf Among Us 2 was using Unreal Engine 4 and Telltale’s legacy engine up until 2022, but the following year the team decided to reboot development with modern engines, hence why the game has been taking so long.
