THQ bigwig Brian Farrell has teased that the upcoming third instalment in the Saints Row franchise will adhere to the series’ tradition of “outrageous and over the top fun,” with the game expected to drive substantial growth for the company in fiscal 2012.
Farrell told investors last night that the publisher is prepping a hefty marketing campaign for the game, while developer Volition is upping the ante in terms of the look and feel of hotly anticipated sequel.
"We expect the next instalment of Saints Row to be a significant growth driver in fiscal 2012. We’ve completely enhanced the technology, look and feel of this multi-million unit franchise while keeping its outrageous and over the top fun," said Farrell.
"We’re developing an innovative marketing campaign including an extensive transmedia strategy for this title. We also plan to expand the Saints Row brand on Facebook, Xbox Live Arcade and PSN, in addition to providing premium online content."
For those unaware, the transmedia push pertains to the downloadable offering Saints Row: Drive By, as well as the previously confirmed film adaptation. As for Saints Row 3 itself, the game’s due out in fall 2011.
