Homefront moved a not-too-shabby 375,000 units on its first day on sale in North America, publishing giant THQ has revealed.
Chatting with Gamasutra, THQ boss Brian Farrell gushed, "We are delighted with first day sales for Homefront and are already fulfilling re-orders for the game from multiple retailers.”
According to Farrell, the sales figure accounts for actual units sold to consumers, as opposed to the number of copies shipped to retails, and covers physical, online and digital releases.
Homefront created quite a stir prior to its release, resulting in it being THQ’s most pre-ordered title in US history with 200,000 pre-sales to its name.
However, critical reception to the much-publicised shooter has been somewhat luke warm, with mixed reviews proving detrimental to THQ’s shares earlier this week.
Nonetheless, PSU’s Adam Dolge found Homefront to be a positive start for the IP, awarding the title 8/10 in his review.
