Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 announced, coming to PS4 and PS3 this year

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 has been officially announced for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The skateboarding sequel will arrive later this year and is being co-developed by Robomodo and Disruptive Games. According to the latest issue of Game Informer, Pro Skater 5 will see a return to the series’ heyday, though there’s plenty of new features being implemented to spice things up.

Tony Hawk’s latest outing will feature nine stages, two of which have been inspired by classic Tony Hawks Pro Skater levels in the shape of Warehouse and Hangar and School. There’s also the chance to fire projectile attacks and acquire power-ups.

"Size-wise it’s going to be pretty big," Dino Verano, the game’s producer, commented, "but we still want to do kind of like a return to form; hearkening back to the old Pro Skater stuff, so it’s not going to feel like an open-world game per se. It’s going to be kind of narrowed down, more focused."

While a firm release date has yet to be confirmed, Activision has said that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will hit stores first, followed by the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions.
