Actor Tony Pankhurst who players will recognize most from The Dark Pictures series of horror games from Supermassive Games in his role as The Curator has unfortunately passed away at the age of 67.
UK-born Pankhurst was beloved by fans of the series, and with the heavy focus on narrative and storytelling those games have, he was, like the other actors involved, key to the enjoyment players got out of the games.
As the face model for The Curator, his iconic look grounded each game. His look paired with the voice and motion capture from Pip Torrens was one of the franchises staples.
Even without being the voice of the character, he was the common thread in this anthology of titles that fans can instantly recognize.
“We are all saddened to hear of Tony Pankhurst’s passing. He was the face of The Curator, and we loved working with him,” Supermassive said in a tweet acknowledging his death.
