There’s nothing worse than bad voiceovers in games based on movies, especially if it features a different cast than the actual film. Well, Megan Fox and Shia LeBeouf fans can rest easy as Activision announced today that the all-star cast will return for the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Joining Fox and LeBeouf are Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron from the original animated series. The cast also includes: Mark Ryan (Bumblebee), Jess Harnell (Ironhide), Charles Adler (Starscream) and Robert Foxworth (Ratchet). Voiceover veterans John Di Maggio (Sideways), and James Arnold Taylor (The Fallen) round out the cast.
In a statement, Rob Kostich, head of marketing for licensed properties, Activision Publishing, said: "The diverse cast allowed us to not only capture the epic storyline from the film, but also seamlessly expand the fiction to create a unique and authentic TRANSFORMERS experience that fans of all ages will enjoy."
You’ll be able to play as your favorite Autobots or Decepticons — dibs on Ironhide. We wonder if LeBeouf wishes he could transform into someone who doesn’t have at least a minor Oedipus Complex — remember, he recently described his own mother as an “ethereal angel” to Playboy.
The game is currently in development by Luxoflux for the PlayStation 3, and by Krome Studios for the PlayStation 2. Lastly, a PlayStation Portable iteration is being handled by Savage Entertainment.
The movie and game come out on June 24.
