Treasure has announced in celebration of its 30th anniversary that the company is working on a ‘highly requested’ title.
In case you’re scratching your head, Treasure worked on the likes of Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, and Wario World. Posting on Twitter, the company had the following to say:
“This year, the 30th anniversary, we are working hard to announce the highly requested ‘that’ title. We look forward to your continued support of Treasure.”
Treasure didn’t elaborate any further on what the new project could be, so we don’t know if it’s a new IP or part of an existing franchise. Its latest works came for the Nintendo 3DS with the Gaist Crusher franchise, although PS2 fans will remember the studio for pumping out a host of titles during the console’s first five or so years on the market.

If you want to trace the company back to its origins, then Treasure’s first title came out in 1993 for the Sega Genesis in the shape of the classic Gunstar Heroes. Initially the company was exclusive to Sega platforms throughout much of the 90s, although the expanded to other formats in 1997.
