Speaking during an interview with PlayStation Universe, Lauri Hyvärinen, Frozenbyte CEO and design director of the Trine series, revealed some of the new skills set to appear in the upcoming Trine 2.
Quizzed on what players could expect from the hotly-anticipated sequel, Hyvärinen commented, "We’ve aimed for a better balance for the characters," adding, "for example, the Knight has received an ability to throw his hammer, and use his shield as a stepping platform for other players."
Hyvärinen also revealed new abilities for the other two heroes in Trine 2. The Thief will sport a new Freezing arrow, while the Mage will receive a new, "small offensive ability" capable of levitating enemies. "The new skills, especially when used in combination with each other, provide countless ways to solve puzzles and smash enemies," explained Hyvärinen.
Trine 2 is a physics-based co-operative platformer, developed by Frozenbyte and published by Atlus. The game is currently set for a late summer release on PlayStation Network.
We’ll have the full interview with Hyvärinen up tomorrow, so stay tuned.
