Tropico 5, the latest installment in the construction and management-‘em-up franchise developed by Haemimont Games, is coming to the PlayStation 4, Kalypso Media has announced.
The title was previously released on MAC, PC and Xbox 360 last year, and will take full advantage of the capabilities of Sony’s next-generation console.
Kalypso Media Managing Director, Andrew Johnson, commented: “We are delighted to be able to work with Sony to bring Tropico 5 to the PlayStation 4 and enter the next generation market.
“The PlayStation 4 version of Tropico 5 will expand the Tropico brand to the new generation hardware and to a new generation of gamers.”
“We have been evaluating many new and exciting development opportunities for the Tropico brand and by bringing Tropico 5 to PlayStation 4 we open a new chapter in the history of the game. By taking full advantage of the PlayStation 4’s processing power the island of Tropico and El Presidente have never looked better,” added Stefan Marcinek, Kalypso Media’s Global Managing Director.
Tropico 5’s comprehensive management system allows you to oversee your chosen country through a large period of history, from its foundation in the colonial era, World War II, the Cold War and finally through to present day. Multiplayer is also supported where gamers can work with or against each other.
