Trove release date announced

Trion Worlds’ MMO Trove has hit a new milestone this week with near four million players registered in the current beta phase on PS4 and Xbox One.

The voxel building adventure, which has been compared to Minecraft, is free-to-play and features dynamic dungeons and game worlds.

"As Trion’s first next-gen console title, Trove is already dominating the Free to Play charts, with official launch still a couple of weeks away," said Scott Hartsman, CEO of Trion Worlds. "We’ve always believed that Trove could be the ideal MMO experience on consoles, and we’re thrilled to see so many Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players jumping into the game."

Players currently in the beta will unlock Disaeon the Immortal if they make an in-game purchase, and Trion is also dishing out rare mounts to celebrate the new milestone to anyone who joins the Trove beta.

  • Chromatic Cumulus – PS4

Trove’s gameplay involves crafting, and constructing worlds and characters while battling against other players. Currently, there are reported to be 10 million PC players, who have been enjoying Trove’s pixelated world since 2015.

The Trove release date for PS4 and Xbox One has also been confirmed as March 14, 2017.
