Lord Of The Rings Online developer Turbine has revealed plans for a PlayStation 3 MMO, adding to a rapidly-expanding list that includes The Agency, DC Universe Online and the recently-announced Bioware epic Dragon Age.
"We’re looking at creating, hopefully, the first MMO that really works," stated Communications Director Adam Mersky. "We’re not going to rush to be first so-to-speak, but clearly we’re leading the way."
The company also cited a quality-driven development cycle, boding well for the future of this mysterious project.
"We’ll ship something when it’s ready, and when it’s something that’s going to work on the platform," Mersky continued. "Clearly there are a lot of hurdles. We’ve been working for awhile, plowing through the majority of them, and we’ve got a lot of work still to do."
Mersky declined to provide any thematic insight, but marrying the Lord of the Rings property with a next-gen console audience would seem like a no-brainer – hopefully we’ll have confirmation soon.
