Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V has stormed the U.K. All Format Chart following its worldwide launch last Tuesday, taking the number one spot in the process.
The open-world crime sequel sold £1.57 million units on its first day on sale in the region, generating a whopping £65 million. As a result, it now comfortably holds the record as the fastest-selling video game of all time in the U.K., topping previous record holder Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Meanwhile, new entry Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 scores second place.
Elsewhere on the charts, Sony’s The Last of Us enjoys a surge in popularity, re-entering the Top 10 at no.3, while Saints Row IV gets knocked down to four. Splinter Cell: Black List rounds out the Top 5.
