In case you haven’t heard, Midway is in pretty bad shape right now. This left gamers wondering what would happen to a variety of Midway titles that were expected to release this year. Thankfully, France-based Ubisoft stepped up to the plate to claim the publishing duties for the upcoming driving title Wheelman. As some of you may recall, Wheelman is an open-world title that features the likeness and voice-acting talents of Fast and the Furious wheelman, Vin Diesel.
Both companies have confirmed that Midway will still be concluding development of the title and still holds full rights for future titles in the franchise. Ubisoft will handle sales, marketing, and distribution of Wheelman in North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and the U.K., while Midway will sell the game in all other European territories.
According to CEO Matt Booty, the decision of Ubisoft to co-publish the title is a "validation of Wheelman’s potential."
Wheelman is set to hit retail shelves on March 24 in North America and March 27 in Europe.
