Ubisoft offers free DLC and game as apology for Asasssin’s Creed Unity issues

Ubisoft is offering all consumers who purchased Assassin’s Creed Unity on PS4, Xbox One or PC free DLC. Not only that, but players who bought the Season Pass will be entitled to choose a game from a list of Ubisoft titles.

The offer comes following complaints of bugs and glitches in Assassin’s Creed Unity which launched earlier this month. Ubisoft acknowledged the issues, apologising in a blog post today.

"Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues," wrote Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallat. "I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin’s Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."

The Dead Kings DLC will now be free for all players, though a release date has yet to be announced. Those who purchased a Season Pass or the Assassin’s Creed Unity Gold Edition will also be entitled to one of the following games:

• The Crew
• Far Cry 4
• Watch Dogs
• Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
• Rayman Legends
• Just Dance 2015

Sales of the Season Pass have now been discontinued and Ubisoft says it will inform customers how they can claim their free game shortly.

Assassin’s Creed Unity has recently receieved a major patch which claims to fix over 300 issues in the game. Another patch is due to fix frame-rate issues.
