Ubisoft has revealed in a new developer diary that the Valley of Memory expansion for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will offer over six hours of gameplay.
Florian Salomez, who serves as artistic director on the new content, explained how restoring the setting of al-Ula to how it may have been in the ninth century was the primary challenge in creating Valley of Memory, which arrives as a free update for owners of Assassin’s Creed Mirage late this year.
The main challenge is to restore the place as it could have been in the ninth century. A flourishing civilization on one side, and an ancient wilderness on the other. Just like golden age Baghdad, most documentation of this incredibly rich setting was lost to time. And as always with the Assassin’s Creed brand, we want to make sure the setting and the period shine. The recreation process is unique, as it is both an artistic and a historical endeavor.

Speaking on the content itself, creative director Stephane Bouden confirmed that Valley of Memory adds “more than six hours o gameplay,” so it sounds like it’ll be a fairly decent expansion in terms of size — especially when you consider it’s free.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory launches November 18, 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Alongside the new story arc for Basim, it also includes various quality-of-life improvements including a revamped parkour system, mission replay and a new level 3 upgrade for each tool.
