Ubisoft has refused to comment on the possibility of bringing Assassin’s Creed Rogue to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The upcoming stealth-action title, which sees gamers placed in the role of assassin-turned-templar, Patrick, Cormac, is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
Quizzed by OXM if the game could make the transition to Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles, Ubisoft Sofia’s Ivan Balabanov commented:
"It’s too early to discuss this subject. Right now Unity is our game for new generation consoles.
"The [Unity] technology’s built from the ground up with a lot of reinventions of the systems behind it – essentially it’s a game that takes full advantage of the hardware, and what we wanted to do in our case is make a game for players who still haven’t made the transition."
Assassin’s Creed Unity is due out on PS4 and Xbox One in October.
