Assassin’s Creed Shadow takes place in 16th century Japan, which has long been a requested setting for the franchise among fans. The game is set towards the conclusion of the Sengoku period, and continues the war between the Assassin Brotherhood and Templar Order, with players following two new characters — a female shinobi known as Naoe, and African samurai Yasuke, who is based on an actual historical figure.
