Ubisoft brought its upcoming guitar sim Rocksmith to South by Southwest, the annual music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin.
The video from the event showcases a fair bit of Rocksmith gameplay, as well as some enthusiastic user reactions to the game. The gameplay interface is inspired by Guitar Hero’s, with similar scrolling notes and colors. It rises up vertically, too, allowing for detailed chord indicators. Get the skinny on Rocksmith’s appearance below.

In case you haven’t heard, Rocksmith is designed from the ground up to teach players how to actually play guitar — any model with a standard quarter-inch input jack will work with the game. It won’t feature standard difficulty settings; instead, it will automatically adjust to the player’s skill level.
Rocksmith is set debut on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC later this year.
