The PS5 has continued to record strong sales in the UK, with Sony’s flagship console seeing a 42% spike in sales during August 2023, according to the latest GfK data.
Sony has been pushing the console a lot of the summer with temporary price reductions on the PS5 and various bundles, which has resulted in a massive 60% sales rise year-on-year for the system. Overall, 135,000 games consoles were sold in the UK last month, which is up 8% over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the best-selling accessories for the month saw no fewer than four PS5 pads leading the pack, namely the DualSense White, Black, Cosmic Red, and Starlight Blue. In terms of software, FIFA 23 was the top-selling game for August 2023, followed by Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Red Dead Redemption.
The PS5 was released in November 2020 and has shipped 40 million units worldwide.
