Uncharted 2 approaching 3 million sales worldwide

Sony America chief Jack Tretton has revealed that sales of adventure romp Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has surpassed the company’s expectations, with the sequel having nearly sold in excess of three million units since its launch in October 2009.

Speaking on the Official U.S. PlayStation Blog, Tretton commented, "Games like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves are surpassing our lofty expectations as it outsold the franchise’s first PS3 game and is now closing in on three million copies sold worldwide.”

Hardly surprising, given how the game turned out to be one of the highlights of 2009 on any platform. Hopefully this will spur the chaps at Naughty Dog in to churning out an Uncharted 3 that much quicker – we’re positively itching to get our claws in to Nathan Drake again. Metaphorically, that is.
