Uncharted 2 beta pulled in 130,000 gamers

1up has obtained a boatload of interesting tidbits concerning the development of hotly anticipated Naughty Dog sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

First and foremost, the site confirmed that over 130,000 gamers spanning 135 countries participated in the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer beta. In three weeks they managed to rack over 40,300 hours of gameplay.

Elsewhere, it was revealed that the team at Naughty Dog spent one month recording motion-capture performances for the game, which provides over 90 minutes of cinematics for the finished product. Humorously, we can also reveal that the development team guzzled down some 30,000 cans of soda over the course of the game’s production, plus a bottle of bourbon.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is due out exclusively on PlayStation 3 in October. A playable demo is scheduled for release late next month.
