Naughty Dog has said it has only just scratched the surface of PlayStation 4’s technical prowess with The Last of Us: Remastered.
Speaking during an interview with Metro, the developer’s Community Strategist, Arne Meyer, indicated that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will take things to the next level in terms of visual splendor.
"I think we’re just scratching the surface," he said. "Obviously this isn’t our first game that’s been developed purely for the PS4, so I think for us this is a great proof of concept that, ‘Here’s the first foundation of how good we can do it and how far we can push it’. And that’s without doing something that’s made ground-up for the PS4.
"Yeah, it’s always been hard to quantify because it’s so extremely relative to everything else. And with some things we’re actually reaching the limit of your eye anyway, which is crazy. But I think when you look at the way that our games have improved from game to game, there is a clear progression there and I think you can expect that as you continue development on the PS4."
The Last of Us: Remastered was released last week to rave reviews, including PSU, with the game also debuting at no.1 on the U.K. All Format Chart.
Uncharted 4 is due out exclusively on PS4 in 2015.
