Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond quits Naughty Dog

Development of Uncharted 4 has suffered another setback, with Justin Richmond confirming his departure from developer Naughty Dog.

Speaking in a statement to IGN, Richmond commented: “I have in fact made the decision to leave Naughty Dog. I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward.

“On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration, I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of.”

Richmond joined Naughty Dog in 2008, and worked on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ multiplayer component before heading up Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception as game director.

Uncharted 4 suffered a previous blow earlier this month, when writer Amy Hennig decided to leave the studio due to alleged creative differences.

Uncharted 4 is scheduled for release exclusively on PS4, though a release date remains unknown.
