Uncharted 4 officially triumphs as May’s best-selling game on the PS Store

Sony has revealed that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End triumphed as the best-selling title via the PlayStation Store for May 2016.

The Naughty Dog-developed action-adventure sequel fended off some stiff competition, including DOOM, Overwatch: Origins Edition, plus reappearances by Battlefield 4 and God of War 3 Remastered.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Eclipse ruled the roost on the downloadable content front, with Blood and Wine for The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4’s Far Harbor also putting in a solid performance.

Naughty Dog isn’t quite done with Uncharted 4 yet

Uncharted 4 was released on May 10, 2016 and received critical acclaim upon launch, including a mighty 10/10 from PSU’s Kyle Prahl. The game takes place three years after the events of Drake’s Deception, and sees Nate and his brother Sam embarking on a globe-trotting hunt for a legendary pirate treasure.

Uncharted 4 is Naughty Dog’s final outing in the series, although it hasn’t ruled out the possibility of another studio taking over at some point down the line. In addition, the Santa Monica outfit is also supporting the game until spring next year with both multiplayer and single-player DLC.

Sony announced recently that Uncharted 4 sold over 2.7 million copies worldwide after just one week on sale.
