Naughty Dog has revealed that the recent Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End stress test represents only around 20 percent of what will be included in the final game’s multiplayer component.
Speaking during a live stream over the weekend, Edward Pereira and Vinit Agarwal, who serve as programmer and game designer on the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive sequel, respectively, revealed a few snippets of info on the upcoming title.
For starters, the pair stated that they considered locking a specific class to certain characters, but in the end decided to allow gamers to adapt any role with a character. Naughty Dog also touched on Drake and Elena’s relationship status, confirming the pair do not have any kids at the time of the game.
In terms of unlocking content for the multiplayer mode, Naughty Dog hasn’t yet decided what type of items players will be able to obtain by playing the single-player; most of the content will be acquired by playing the multiplayer itself.
Bizarrely, one of the stream hosts enquired about a PC version of Uncharted 4, to which Naughty Dog dismissed outright.
Finally, the California-based studio revealed that the current build of the game they have in the office features many changes in comparison to the stress test version gamers got to grips with this past weekend.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is scheduled for release on May 10, 2016. The game takes place a few years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and sees the fortune hunter teaming up with his long-lost brother, Sam, to track down a legendary pirate’s treasure in the Madagascar area.
Naughty Dog has previously confirmed that this will be the final instalment in the Uncharted franchise to star Nate, and the future of the series remains ambiguous at this point in time. However, the developer does have at least one more PS4 game in the pipeline, with a popular theory pointing to a sequel to The Last of Us.
