Uncharted script writer Joe Carnahan has teased that he opening to the upcoming action-adventure flick is shaping up nicely—at least on paper, anyway.
Carnahan Tweeted, “The opening scene for UNCHARTED…at least in script form, is really, REALLY GOOD.”

That’s all fine and dandy, but when exactly can we expect to see the Uncharted movie hit cinemas? Sony previously pinned a June 30, 2017 release date on the movie adaptation of Naughty Dog’s action epic, although the film has since been removed from the release schedule.
However, given that the film hasn’t even been cast yet, let alone started filming, there’s almost no chance that we’ll see the movie out in under a year’s time.
The idea of an Uncharted film has been stewing since 2010, although the project has been dogged with various problems, including the departure of numerous directors and writers. Originally, David O. Russell was set to direct the film, although since then we’ve seen the likes of Neil Burger and Seth Gordon attached to the movie.
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog’s final outing the franchise, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, was released exclusively for PlayStation 4 in May 2016.
