Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy is coming to PS4 on September 14, Big Sugar and Lundomtion have announced.
The Roguelite RPG was originally in Early Access for the PC in May 2021 before launching in full for Steam, Epic Games Store and GoG a year later. Meanwhile, the game made the jump to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in June 2022.
Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy is an ambitious procedural action-RPG with a twist on permadeath: While your character can kick the bucket, the world can persist. The game eschews traditional RPG trappings such as grind, XP and gold, and focuses on a story shaped by your choices throughout.
Players take on the role of the titular Wayfarer, who embarks on a quest to destroy the Staff of Vendor. Along the way you’ll brush shoulders with tribes, battle magical creatures and explore ancient ruins while uncaring mythical weapons and historical items.

The developer promises a challenging experience that will see you die many times, which may come by making the wrong choice, taking on too many enemies or forgetting to stock up on essential supplies. There’s no autosaving or suck-loading; once they’re dead, your character is gone for good.
Despite this, you can continue your adventure with a new character in the same world, picking up a few years after your previous character’s death.
