Update – According to a Reddit post, Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour is the name of the new game, a remaster of the original Duke Nukem 3D. Tezla66 has posted some screenshots and claims that it’s being developed by Nerve Software. Other snippets of information reveal that game will feature co-op. Of course, take this with a pinch of salt until we get official confirmation.

It’s countdown to another Duke Nukem game! Oh god, remember Duke Nukem Forever, arguably one of the worst PS3 games ever?
Well, a new Duke Nukem may be in the works. On the Duke Nukem site, a countdown timer is ticking down and will hit zero on September 3, which coincides with PAX West, the inaugural show for gamers where developers also showcase their games.
The timer is also accompanied by a Duke Nukem banner, suggesting that IP owners, Gearbox Software, are planning a little treat for fans in the anniversary year of the square-jawed hero – it’s 20 years since Duke Nukem 2D was released in 1996!
It also looks like it’s no coincidence that a Twitter account called @DukeNukemGame has also surfaced.
In 2015, Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford told the audience at the Develop: Brighton conference that concept art for a new Duke Nukem games was in the works. One year on, and it could be that Gearbox is ready to tell us more!
Are you excited for a new Duke Nukem game?
