We saw a lot of comments from veterans telling personal stories, and we thank you all for those memories. Real war is a hard subject, and it is not to be taken lightly. People die, people kill. There are books that attempt to accurately portray war, and there are movies and TV shows that seek to provide a realistic view into the life of a soldier. Videogames, I believe, are a bit different.
Videogames are a form of entertainment, but unlike music, film, fine art, or literature, games are active. This means that the user is taking a (relatively) active role in the storytelling process—it’s as if players are helping to tell the story. Sure, games generally have a predetermined narrative, but in most cases the user is made to believe he or she is calling the shots. It’s with this in mind that gaming is different (not better or worse, per se) than other forms of entertainment.
We could probably host an entire series on reality in gaming, but we know all those that entered our contest want to hear the winner. Without further ado (and thank you all for your entrance and patience), we’d like to congratulate the following winner:

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: We know there’s a really, really popular first-person shooter that just hit the market, but we shouldn’t forget about some of the other great titles in the genre. Co-developed by Danger Close and DICE, and published by EA, Medal of Honor is a reboot of the EA’s popular FPS series.
EA worked hard to keep Medal of Honor as authentic and true to the Afghanistan War by working directly with the U.S. military. The single-player takes place during 2002 and follows an elite group of soldiers. The multiplayer offers plenty of action for those who just need another game to run around and shoot each other.
