KMart has since listed the Slim PS3 down for release on August 24, priced at $299 USD. Apparently it’ll include a 120GB, as described here:
"PS3, SLIM High-Definition Blu-ray player for the best movie experience. Free PLAYSTATION Network membership. 120GB HDD for downloading games, music, videos, and photos. Includes DUAL SHOCK 3 controller. HDMI output for 1080p resolution."

U.S. retail giant KMart has plastered a new advertisement on its website seemingly confirming the existence of the long rumored Slim PlayStation 3 model, as well as a price cut for the regular model.
The banner, seen here, boldly claims: “The rumors are reality. New low price & a new exciting Playstation 3.” Aside from the erroneous spelling of ‘PlayStation’, the advertisement seems entirely legit and it looks as though all that’s missing is an official announcement on the matter from Sony themselves, which is expected later today.
Sony’s press conference kicks off today at 9.30am PST/5.30 pm BST. Stay tuned to PSU for more info as it breaks.
