The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has confirmed what many have suspected for quite some time now – SEGA is indeed working on a Valkyria Chronicles 3.
However, the sequel won’t be appearing on PS3, and will instead be following in the footsteps of its predecessor, showing up on PSP instead.
According to the publication, the game will be set in the year 1935, putting it in the same time frame as the original PS3 outing. This time around things focus on a squad known as the “nameless,” which consists of members Imuka, Kurt and Reira.
Valkyria Chronicles 3 is pencilled in for release in Japan on January 27, 2011. No word on a western date as of yet, though we expect it’ll make the transition to the U.S. and Europe at some point next year.
Stay tuned for more info as it breaks.
