November’s crowded holiday line-up sadly proved a detriment to sales of SEGA’s wonderfully crafted SRPG Valkyria Chronicles, with the game failing to crack the top ten game SKUs last month in North America.
The title managed to shift just 33,000 units for the month of November – an underwhelming performance by anyone’s standards, we think you’ll agree. The game hit Japanese retailers back in April, turning in a solid performance in its first week, shifting 77,000 copies.
Despite its obvious charms, it is perhaps unsurprising the game failed to sail commercially, given its competition with heavy hitters such as Call of Duty: World at War, Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2, where a SPRG of its type is likely to get lost in the frenzy.
