SEGA has announced a Valkyria Revolution release date of June 27 in North America and June 30 in Europe, with the game’s western launch support supporting both a digital and physical release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Those of you who pre-order the game in Europe on disc will receive a 12-track soundtrack composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, who previously worked on Chromo Trigger and Stella Glow. The game will set you back £34.99.
Valkyrie Revolution sees the Vanargand, elite soldiers of Jutland, band together in order to defeat the Ruzi Empire and death itself, the Valkria. The seasoned party is packing some serious heat, wielding advanced mana weaponry and ragnite spells in battle to combat this immense threat, with Jutland’s Princess Ophelia also answering the call of war and joining in the ranks.
Unlike previous entries in the critically acclaimed franchise, this latest entry eschews the turn-based strategic gameplay in favour of a more action-oriented system where players wield melee strikes, ranged attacks, and strategic shifts to gain victory. Expect new characters, a new world, and fresh gameplay mechanics to deliver a brand new experience for newcomers and veterans alike.
