Remember that gorgeous tech demo of what Final Fantasy VII would look like running on the PlayStation 3 that Sony and Square showed us back in ’06? Of course you do–how could you forget? Especially with Square Enix denying that a real remake would ever happen again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
But we don’t need to wait around for Square Enix to get moving, as a fan group in Spain has remade the intro sequence of the game using the Unreal Engine. The video below shows the train stop at the start of FF7, along with what the battle with the first few soldiers would be like if FF7 had more… polygons.
