Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown dated

Downloadable beat-‘em-up Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown will be released on June 5, 2012, SEGA has confirmed.

Originally released in arcades, Final Showdown adds two new characters to the fray – Taka-Arashi and Jean Kuji – in addition to dynamic environments, plus the console-exclusive Training Mode, eight-player online match mode and match record functionality.

Furthermore, the fighter will be supplemented by DLC character customisation packs for all 19 brawlers, each of which will set you back $4.99/£3.59. Here, you’ll find 600-950 custom items to tinker around with.

Gamers will also be able to fork out for two extra DLC customisation packs on release day – one pack featuring nine characters’ worth of items and the other packing 10 items – for approximately $14.99/£9.99 each.

Virtua Fighter Final Showdown will set you back $14.99/£9.99 on PlayStation Network and 1,200 Microsoft Points via Xbox LIVE Arcade.
