Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Coming To PS5 With Cross-Play & Rollback Netcode

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is heading to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S complete with full Cross-Play support and rollback netcode, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced. The game was originally released for the PC earlier this year.

Speaking at the Virtua Fighter Direct 2025 Spring, Seiji Aoki, Virtua Fighter 5 Project Producer, commented:

I know we’ve kept you waiting, our Steam release Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is finally coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2! Since Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.‘s launch, we’ve heard your requests for multiplatform support via the official Virtua Fighter Discord and other channels. We on the development team want to give users on all platforms the opportunity to enjoy Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., so we are happy to bring you this announcement.

Also, in bringing this title to multiple platforms, we’re planning to include cross-play support. And to make your cross-play experience even smoother, the rollback functionality used in the Steam version will be supported on all platforms. We’re going to include even more content to make this much more than a simple port, which we’ll tell you about in future updates.

Virtua Fighter 5 was originally released way back in 2006, and arrived for the PS3 and Xbox 360 the following year. SEGA later re-launched the game as Virtua Fighter r5 R in 2008 and again in 2010 as Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, the latter of which came to home consoles in 2012. Most recently, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, a remastered version of Final Showdown, arrived on PS4 in 2021.

A release date for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. has yet to be announced.
