Fresh details have surfaced on the upcoming Star Wars title from Dead Space developer Visceral Games, including rumored info on the main protagonist of the action-adventure title.

According to Making Star Wars (a site known for its reliability when it comes to leaking things regarding the sci-fi franchise), the main character of the as-yet untitled project, known as Project Ragtag, will be portrayed by Todd Stashwick. Apparently, he’s known as Dodger, and got his nickname by managing to avoid being drafted into the Imperial service, and was subsequently forced into a life of crime.

Having decided to go on the run, Dodger quickly found himself wanted by the Empire and sought refuge in the galaxy’s seedy underworld, where he quickly built a reputation as fast-talking charmer. Things turned sour however when his homeworld, Alderaan, was destroyed by the Death Star, although he quickly finds an opportunity to make money after the Empire unleashes its wrath on the outer rim in retribution for the destruction of its planet-destroying behemoth.

Our hero initially takes on work from Jabba the Hutt, which bags him the necessary funds to remove himself from the Empire’s wanted list of Alderaanian survivors. This leads him to discovering some unsettling information about the Empire’s plans for its super weapon, forcing him to confront his past and the destruction of Alderaan.

In terms of combat, Dodger will reportedly have more than enough to deal with enemies. He’ll come equipped with a light whip/grapple stick and a blaster, with his signature move being ensnaring his opponent with the whip via his left hand and letting them have it with his blaster in the other. From the sound of things he’s more than just a Han Solo ripp-off, with more than enough unique character attributes and a compelling backstory to make him standout in his own right.

It’s worth mentioning that none of this info has been officially confirmed as of yet, so take it with a pinch of salt for now. However, it’s worth noting that Stashwick was already confirmed to be on board the project, albeit as a co-writer, not voice actor. We also know that Amy Hennig, the former lead writer for the Uncharted series, is working on the project, and has promised that it’ll channel that series’ swashbuckling charm, which can only be a good thing.
