Wallace & Gromit creators Aardman Animations have announced that they are developing an open-world title based on a new IP.
According to job listings posted by the company, the new project will focus on “inventive mechanics and compelling characters,” and is championed as a “mad, open-world” project that will be set firmly within the “3D action-adventure genre .”
Elsewhere, the job descriptions put a strong emphasis on the fact it’s a new IP and world-building elements, and the team are focussed on creating “amazing, hilarious, surprising and varied characters” with defined lore. It also mentions as strong emphasis on narrative, and the humor, love and craftsmanship” the studio is known for.

Right now, the game is believed to be in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S going by the listing. In addition, the studio has confirmed it’s partnered with a “major publisher” for the unnamed project.
