Chucklefish’s turn-based strategy game for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch will test your skills to the limits and part of winning each battle will be down to how well you know and use your Wargroove Commanders.
In total there are 12 Wargroove Commanders, three per faction. Each commander has its own unique ability, or special move, called a “groove”. In order to get your strategy and tactics right, it pays to know the abilities of each commander so you can choose wisely in advance.
Wargroove Commanders – All Grooves
In order to use the special move, you’ll need to fill up the groove meter of your Wargrove commander. You do this by dealing damage and taking damage. Once full you can turn the fight with a range of actions. Here’s the full line-up of commanders.
Cherrystone Kingdom
Ceaser – Inspire: Inspire all your units to take another turn.
Emeric – Cherrystone Defence: Give a defensive bonus to all units on your team that are close-by.
Mercia – Heal Aura: Heal all units.
Felheim Legion
Ragna – Shield Jump: Teleport up to 5 tiles and deal 5 damage to units surrounding you.
Sigrid – Vampiric Touch: Heal yourself and drain health from an enemy.
Valder – Raise Dead: Conjure up an extra unit that will spawn on the adjacent tile and attack an enemy.
Floran Tribes
Greenfinger – Wild Growth: Block enemies by using a vine that spans 5 tiles. Watch out as they also disappear over time.
Nuru – Teleport Beam: Teleport one of your friendly nits right next to you.
Sedge – Sadistic Rush: Choose a target and deliver 35% damage. You’ll also go back to a 100% meter charge if that enemy dies.
Heavensong Empire
Koji – Sparrow Bombs: Two sparrow bombs appear and can move 5 tiles causing damage to enemies.
Ryota – Blade Dash: Deal damage to enemies by dashing through them.
Tenri – Tornado: Move an enemy or one of your own units to another tile.
