Warhammer Vermintide 2 will not employ loot boxes, developer Fatshark has confirmed.

Loot comes from gameplay, not your wallet,” the studio posted on Reddit. The comments come in light of a number of high-profile titles utilising the controversial system, such as Middle-earth Shadow of War and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

In addition, Fatshark also revealed the first gameplay footage of the highly anticipated sequel, with Chaos confirmed as the new faction alongside the returning Skaven.

The five heroes from the original Vermintide will be making a comeback. However, they can now specialise in one of three hero classes, which act as a type of subclass. New weapons and an overhauled loot system are also confirmed, alongside fresh locations and a revamped User Interface.
