Massively Multiplayer Shoot-em-up Warhawk has sold over 100,000 copies in its first week of sales.
Although not record breaking, Warhawk did not have quite the same media coverage as, say, GTA or Halo, so 100,000 copies in a week is very impressive. The near world wide release of the game, as well as the Collector’s Edition currently available at retailers in the USA, probably helped this number skyrocket.
For those of you completely out of the loop, Warhawk is an MMO Shooter, as detailed above, based on the PSone launch game of the same name. It plays very similarly to the Battlefront and Battlefield series of video games, but with a larger focus on the vehicles, namely the titular Warhawk aircraft.
Although there were initial server problems due to unexpected volume, these have generally been fixed. Similar problems occurred on EAs servers with Battlefield 2142 when it was first released, so this hardly a new thing for online shooters.
It is a must have for the PS3, so go download it or buy it now! If you need more convincing, read our review.
