Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat II ahead of the film’s release in early May, and if this doesn’t convince you to drop some cash on a ticket, nothing will.
The latest trailer has plenty of scenes featuring Johnny Cage (Karl Urban), who has been the poster child for marketing in MKII since his casting was announced. We’re also treated to snippets of Kitana, Baraka, Scorpion, Sub-Zero (or should that be Noob Saibot?), Raiden, and Jade. The best bit? It’s all set to a familiar tune, namely the classic 1995 Mortal Kombat theme, although it’s been remixed here for the new film. Oh, and Ed Boon, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series, even has a cameo as a bartender. Brilliant!
Mortal Kombat II is the follow-up to 2021’s reboot of the MK movie universe, and brings together Earth’s mightiest warriors once more as they battle for the fate of Earthrealm against Shao Kahn and his armies.
