Who wants to see Devil May Cry 5 or Viewtiful Joe 3? Then tell Hideki Kamiya

The director behind classic games such as Resident Evil 2 and Bayonetta has taken to Twitter to gauge interest among fans in regards to a possible sequel to Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, and Okami.

Hideki Kamiya put up two polls for users to interact with in an effort to see what sequel gamers would like to see the renowned video game creator develop next: Okami or Devil May Cry and Okami or Viewtiful Joe.

From the results so far, it’s clear that players would prefer to see a follow-up to Clover Studios’ critically acclaimed Okami, with the first poll showcasing over half of the votes going to the Japanese-inspired adventure game. Poll two also favours an Okami sequel over a new entry in the Viewtiful Joe franchise.

There’s no word yet on whether Kamiya-san and his studio, Platinum Games, actually plans on making any of the above games, although the fact he’s interested in finding out what the fans are after can only be a good thing. The studio’s most recent projects include Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Star Fox Zero, and Bayonetta 2.

Devil May Cry was last seen in the shape of Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, although prior to that the fast-paced action franchise was rebooted by Ninja Theory with 2013’s DmC: Devil May Cry. Okami was released in 2006 and was also remastered in high-definition for PS3, although a true sequel has yet to grace another home console outside of various handheld efforts. Viewtiful Joe hasn’t been seen properly since the 2005 sequel for PS2 and GameCube.

What would you like to see Kamiya-san and his team work on next? Give us a shout below.
