Blood West, the Wild West first-person shooter from developer Hyperstrange, is launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 16, 2025, publisher New Blood Interactive has announced.
Players take on the role of the Undead Gunslinger, who is doomed to roam the barren lands until he finds the means to purge the curse and free his soul. Described as a damnation arc, Blood West offers an immersive first-person shooter that sees Weird West legends meet eldritch horror, and offers over 20 hours of gameplay split between its three episodes — The Canyons, The Swamp, and the Mountains.

Blood West is a stealth first-person shooter inspired by the genre classics such as the Thief series (whose fans will be happy to hear the voice of Stephen Russell, the actor voicing the master-thief Garrett, returning here as the protagonist), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, or—from the contemporary catalog—Hunt: Showdown. The gameplay rewards the careful approach: scouting the area, stalking your enemies, and striking from the shadows. Can you figure out a way to clear a fort full of ghouls and monsters without raising an alarm?
Blood West supports an RPG-like perk-based progression system, which affords players a highly customisable gameplay experience that tailors to your liking. As such, you can opt for a stealth hunter, a lethal gunslinger, or a relentless berserker, with players earning experience on their travels and progressing through a skill tree. Furthermore, you’ll nab new artifacts in each scenario that will give you extra abilities, while combining skills and load-out creates numerous playstyles for you to experiment with.
