Developer R8 Games today confirmed a promised console version of Formula Fusion after achieving its £35,000 Kickstarter stretch goal earlier today.
While the game is still pending for Sony approval (as with every pre-production game), R8 CEO Andrew Walker said the studio will do as much as possible to bring the game to the PlayStation 4, even if it does not reach the console stretch goal.
“Do we promise a console version?! Totally! It may come on the back of the PC version we are developing but we are going to deliver it,” wrote Walker in the latest stretch goal update.
This comes as great news for anyone on the fence on whether to back the project. If the game’s Kickstarter hits the £100,000 mark, the console version will launch simultaneously with the PC release..
For those awaiting footage of Formula Fusion, a first look at the racer may potentially be shown by the end of Wednesday. With the Kickstarter campaign being cleared up over last week, resources were taken away from the development of the footage and a TPP Backer’s play build.
A public event showing off Formula Fusion and with musical guest Dub FX is being held on May 19 at Teesside University. Click here for more info including ticketing.
