Following on from a leak via an Amazon listing just two days ago, publisher Bethesda has officially unveiled Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus during its press conference at E3 2017.
First teased at Bethesda’s E3 conference last year via a mention within an MS-DOS boot screen, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been an open secret within the video game industry for some time – with famed Swedish developer MachineGames reprising its fantastic work on the series again this time around.
Shown during the conference with a comprehensive 8-minute reveal trailer (seen below), Wolfenstein II: The new Colossus sees you step into the shoes of BJ Blazkowicz once again with the task of protecting your family by, of course, liberating America from Nazi occupation. No mean feat, that’s sure, but if there’s someone who’s got the chops – and indeed the extensive experience to carry out such a task – it’s Blazkowicz.

Interestingly, too, is that The New Colossus is aiming to introduce a number of new characters from the Resistance faction – fellow freedom fighters such as Anya, Caroline, and Bombate, amongst others – who’ll aid and interact with you during the campaign.
2014’s reboot of the series, titled: Wolfenstein: The New Order – alongside its standalone expansion ‘The Old Blood’ – were surprise hits upon release, with most gamers not expecting such a proficient retelling of one of gaming’s most important first-person shooters.

Well, that mistake surely won’t be made again as Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is looking to up the ante in every way possible this time around – with an upgrade to id Tech 6, far more Nazis to pulverize on American soil, and the extended high-tech armory to do it in style.
For those curious, you won’t have to wait long to do the above, because the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus release date is set for October 27.
