World of Final Fantasy was released on PS4 and PS Vita in October 2016 and was conceived as a celebratory title to mark the Final Fantasy series’ 30th anniversary. Read our World of Final Fantasy review.
The game takes place in the world of Grymoire which is populated by numerous classic Final Fantasy creatures and characters, although the title itself is unconnected to any other previous entry. World of Final Fantasy’s story focuses on amnesic siblings Lann and Reynn, who possess the power to capture and wield monsters known as Mirages. The game’s combat employs the Active Time Battle (ATB) system seen in previous Final Fantasy titles.
Rumors earlier this year suggested that Square Enix was planning a huge Final Fantasy 30th anniversary package for gamers, although these have yet to be officially confirmed.
