Leenzee Games, the studio behind Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, has reportedly seen producer and director Xia Siyuan leave the studio prior to the Lunar New Year, leading to much of the team having dissolved as a result.
Reports state that other developers at Leenzee Games have been told to transition to outsourcing or “support work tied to other projects,” although a large portion of staff declined this shift, resulting in the core development team dissolving. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers hasn’t been updated since November last year, so this would explain the lack of movement on the project since that time. Right now, it remains to be seen if the game will receive any major expansion or DLC going forward.
Xia Siyuan, meanwhile, has apparently established a new development studio so they are not planning to leave the games industry.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in July 2025, and you can read our full verdict here.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers takes the form of an action-RPG Soulslike set during the late Ming Dynasty period in the land of Shu, which is plagued by warring factions and a mysterious illness that spawns blood-thirsty creatures. Players follow Wuchang, an amnesiac pirate warrior who has to contend with her mysterious past while struck by the Feathering disease, as she navigates the depth of Shu as you battle grotesque creatures.
